Mad Harry’s Steel is a locally-owned and operated family business that has been built on a foundation of good old fashioned Aussie values of providing the highest quality products and service, when you need them and for the best price.

The steel yard was established on the Moppity Road four decades ago by founder Harry

Delamont, and to this day continues to supply Young and surrounding areas with a wide range of steel building products and services.

Staff at Mad Harry’s Steel are renowned for their accommodating style of service, and having acquired an abundance of knowledge in the field, are equipped to assist you with all your steel requirements.

Add to this a broad range of readily available stock, the ability to order-in from the likes of

Australian company Lysaght, and delivery within a 200km radius of Young - it comes as no surprise that Mad Harry’s Steel has maintained long standing professional relationships with their customers.

The Team

Harry Delamont - Owner

Harry was the mastermind behind the establishment of Mad Harry’s Steel back in the 70s, and has since taken a step back from the steel yard, focusing his concentration on other franchises. The Power House
and Hardware Store are based on Boorowa and Lovell streets in Young.

Michael Delamont - Manager

Michael has been an imperative part of the business, leading the team for the last 40 years. Michael oversees operations, conducts deliveries and deals with customer enquiries at the yard.
He has acquired an abundance of knowledge over the years, making him confident in purchasing the majority of steel products.

Sam Witt - Supervisor

Sam is responsible for organising the team as well as overseeing deliveries, orders and sales. Sam has been a part of the team for more than 12 months and plays an integral role in the everyday operation of the yard.

Jackson Delamont - Accounts/Sales

Jackson can be found in the office, out on deliveries or assisting customers in the yard. Jackson is the grandson of Harry Delamont and has been a member of the Mad Harry’s Steel team for 11 years, during which time he has contributed to several aspects of the business.
